Refund Policy

Last updated: October 25, 2026

1. Overview

At Workhu, we provide professional digital services, including branding, logo design, UI/UX design, website design, web development, and related creative and technical services.

Because our services involve time, expertise, planning, custom work, and project-specific deliverables, our refund arrangements differ from those for physical products.

This Refund Policy explains how payment cancellations, refund requests, project termination, and disputes are handled. It should be read together with our Terms & Conditions and the proposal or service agreement applicable to your project.

Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude or restrict any refund, cancellation, or other right that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.

2. Core Refund Principle

Workhu does not promise automatic or unconditional 100% refunds after project work has started. When a client requests cancellation or a refund after work has begun, Workhu will calculate the value of work performed up to the cancellation date and deduct that amount, together with any authorized, non-recoverable third-party expenses, from payments already received.

If any eligible balance remains after this calculation, that balance may be refunded in accordance with the applicable agreement and law. The amount retained must reasonably reflect work completed and properly chargeable costs; it is not an arbitrary penalty.

A refund may be unavailable where the value of completed work and authorized costs equals or exceeds the amount paid, subject to applicable law and the client's non-waivable legal rights.

3. Example of a Refund Calculation

Example only: A project has a total agreed price of $5,000, and the client pays a 50% initial payment of $2,500. Workhu performs three weeks of work before the client requests cancellation.

If the reasonable, documented value of work completed and authorized non-recoverable costs is $1,500, Workhu would retain $1,500 and refund the remaining $1,000 from the $2,500 already paid.

The figures are illustrative only. The actual refund, if any, depends on the agreed scope, work completed, project records, authorized expenses, the payment agreement, and applicable law. The length of time spent on a project does not automatically determine the refund amount.

4. Initial Payments and Deposits

An initial payment may be required to reserve project capacity, begin discovery, conduct research, develop concepts, or schedule the team.

After work begins, the initial payment is not automatically refundable in full. Workhu will assess the value of work performed and any properly chargeable, authorized costs, then determine whether a remaining balance is eligible for refund.

Before work begins, cancellation requests will be assessed according to the proposal, any agreed cancellation terms, and applicable law. Where a refund is due, Workhu will refund the eligible amount after accounting for any lawful, properly chargeable work or costs.

5. Refunds After Work Has Started

Once work has commenced, any refund assessment will take into account the services performed up to the effective cancellation date. This may include discovery sessions, strategy, research, wireframes, design concepts, visual identity development, development work, testing, project management, and other activities included in the approved scope.

Where permitted by law and the agreement, Workhu may deduct the reasonable value of completed work and authorized non-recoverable expenses from the amount already paid. If the value of completed work and chargeable costs equals or exceeds the amount paid, no refund may be due, subject to applicable law.

If a balance remains after these deductions, Workhu will assess that balance for refund in accordance with the agreement and applicable law.

6. Milestone-Based Projects

For projects divided into milestones, each milestone may have its own deliverables, payment schedule, and approval process.

Payments for completed and approved milestones are generally not refundable solely because the client later decides not to proceed with subsequent milestones, subject to applicable law and the terms of the agreement.

If a project ends before a milestone is completed, Workhu will assess the work performed and the amount paid for that milestone. Any refund due will be calculated according to the agreement, completed work, authorized expenses, and applicable legal requirements.

7. Design Revisions and Client Dissatisfaction

Our creative services are delivered according to the approved brief, scope, and creative direction.

If a client is dissatisfied with a deliverable, we encourage them to provide clear, consolidated feedback within the review period stated in the proposal. Where revisions are included in the agreed scope, we will address reasonable revision requests in accordance with the agreement.

A preference change or change of mind after work has been performed does not automatically entitle a client to a full refund. However, if Workhu materially fails to deliver the agreed service and cannot reasonably resolve the issue, we will review the circumstances and provide any remedy required by the agreement or applicable law.

8. Development Issues and Technical Defects

If a delivered website, application, or digital product contains a technical defect within the agreed scope, the client should notify Workhu with a clear description and, where possible, supporting screenshots or steps to reproduce it.

We will assess whether the issue falls within the agreed scope, warranty, or support period. Where the issue is attributable to Workhu and covered by the agreement, we may correct the defect or provide another appropriate remedy as required by the agreement and applicable law.

Issues caused by unauthorized changes, third-party platforms, client-supplied code, unsupported environments, or modifications made after delivery may fall outside the agreed scope unless otherwise specified.

9. Cancellation by Workhu

If Workhu is unable to continue a project for reasons within its control, we will communicate with the client and discuss appropriate next steps.

Depending on the circumstances, this may include completing agreed work, arranging a mutually acceptable alternative, transferring completed deliverables where appropriate, or refunding amounts paid for services that have not been performed. Any refund will be assessed consistently with the applicable agreement and mandatory legal requirements.

10. Third-Party Costs

Third-party expenses may include domain registrations, hosting, software subscriptions, premium fonts, stock images, plugins, paid themes, external development services, or other approved purchases.

Where such expenses have already been paid to a third-party provider and cannot be recovered, they may be excluded from a refund to the extent permitted by law and the agreed terms. Third-party refund decisions may be subject to the relevant provider's own policies.

Workhu will explain applicable third-party costs where reasonably practicable.

11. Circumstances Where a Full Refund May Not Be Available

Subject to applicable law and the terms of the relevant agreement, a full refund may not be available for:

  • Services already performed.
  • Completed and approved milestones.
  • Work completed before a client-requested cancellation.
  • Additional work expressly authorized by the client.
  • Properly incurred and approved third-party expenses that cannot be recovered.
  • Situations where a client changes their mind after approving deliverables, without a contractual or legal basis for a refund.

This policy does not remove any rights a client may have where Workhu has materially breached the agreement or where applicable law requires a refund or other remedy.

12. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, contact contact@workhu.com and include:

  • Your full name and business name, if applicable.
  • The email address used for the project.
  • Your project name or invoice number.
  • The amount paid and relevant payment date.
  • A clear explanation of the reason for your request.
  • Relevant supporting information, if available.

We may request additional information reasonably necessary to assess the request.

13. Review and Processing

Workhu will acknowledge and review refund requests within a reasonable period.

If a refund is approved, we will communicate the approved amount and expected processing method. Unless applicable law or the agreement requires a different timeframe, we aim to initiate approved refunds within 10 business days after approval.

The time required for funds to appear in the client's account may depend on the payment provider, bank, card issuer, or other financial institution. Where possible, refunds will be returned through the original payment method. If this is not practicable, we will agree on an appropriate alternative with the client.

14. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes

If you have a concern about an invoice, payment, or service, please contact us first so we can attempt to resolve the issue.

Nothing in this policy prevents you from exercising any chargeback, payment dispute, or other right available under applicable law or your payment provider's rules.

We may provide relevant project records, invoices, approvals, and communications to a payment processor where reasonably necessary to respond to a legitimate payment dispute.

15. Changes to This Policy

Workhu may update this Refund Policy to reflect changes in its services, business practices, or legal requirements.

The updated policy will be published on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date. Changes will not retroactively remove rights that have already accrued or rights that cannot legally be excluded.

The policy and terms agreed for an existing project will be considered together when assessing a refund request.
